The Tuscan - American Association is an independent non-profit organization founded in 1996. The President of the Region of Tuscany and the United States Consul General are Honorary Presidents of this Association, whose mission is "to deepen and broaden ties and promote cultural and economic exchange between the United States and Tuscany".
- To promote cultural, scientific, educational and economic exchange between the United States and Tuscany
- To act as “liaison” and contact between Tuscans and Americans through the creation of a permanent Tuscan-American center in Florence offering information services, publications, and meeting facilities
- To collaborate with local public authorities and private organizations to safeguard and support the cultural and artistic heritage of Tuscany
- To encourage conferences, activities and publications of mutual interest for Tuscans and Americans
